AUTOMATION AND PROCESS CONTROLS ENGINEER 

LOUISVILLE, KY


ROCKWELL PLANTPAx and process safety experience preferred.


  • ​Set direction and provide day to day troubleshooting for DCS hardware/software, instrumentation, and controls.
  • Identifying and implement new process control improvement opportunities.  This includes electrical and instrument design.
  •  Provide coaching and development for site control mechanics
  • The candidate will serve as the point of contact for the IT function.
  • Electrical and instrument project design
  • Electrical Safety Management site owner – Safety manual owner, participate in electrical safety audits and provide technical support for maintenance of 13,800 VAC and below.
  • < 5% travel expected.


Job Qualifications

  • B.S. Electrical or Chemical Engineering and 3 years of experience in developing and commissioning process control applications.
  • Fundamental understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) systems and High Hazard Processes
  • Desire to work in a manufacturing environment. Experience championing and implementing improvements in systems capabilities in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise and understanding of distributed control system (DCS) architecture and demonstrated skills in configuring, documenting and troubleshooting a variety of DCS or PLC systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instrumentation systems and electrical infrastructure
  • Experience with process control and instrumentation tuning
  • Demonstrated success in managing and leading both long-term programs/projects as well as address short-term operational issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop instrument and control mechanics/technicians
  • Understanding of the principles of operation, reliability and performance characteristics of instrumentation, measurements, analyzers and control valves.
  • Experience with process safety standards (DX_S, RAGAGEP, IEC) and their application to chemical manufacturing facilities.
  • Knowledge of the open and closed loop response characteristics of dynamic systems.
  • Experience with Rockwell PAX DCS with 1756 Logix controllers, 1756 I/O and 1719 Intrinsically safe I/O is preferred.
  • Experience with Rockwell Factory Talk SE HMI in a fully redundant architecture is preferred.
  • Six sigma Green Belt/ Black Belt certified is preferred.​
