 Sr. Process Control Engineer: northern, LA

Process Control Engineer will be actively designing, developing, installing, managing and maintaining essential equipment used to monitor and control machinery and processes, ensuring safe and efficient operations. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating strategies and standards related to all aspects of the control system platform; these include, but are not limited to DCS, PLC, control logic programming, data acquisition, control room and control panel arrangement /equipment layout
  • Developing project plans and working collaboratively with design and operations engineers, IT and other staff members
  • Acting as a liaison between internal personnel, suppliers and contractors
  • Acting as Project Manager/Overseer and keeping projects within design, cost and time expectations
  • Maintaining and modifying existing control systems
Requirements:  BS in Electrical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering with eight (8) years experience in process control. DCS and PLC experience.  Experience with instrumentation and electrical systems associated with Process Control Systems. Manage department projects associated with re-instrumentation and DCS/PLC installations.  Experience in supporting operations group on a day to day basis.  Willingness to use "out of the box" solutions to drive variability and costs down and quality and production up.  Honeywell TDC 3000 / TPS or DeltaV experience helpful.  Prefer specific experience with utilities process control including boilers, TGs, Recovery and Evaps.

 

Instrumentation and Control Engineer: St Louis, MO

Electrical and Instrumentation Superintendent: Midwest

Candidate will start as E&I Assistant, Superintendent, or as a Sr. Electrical Engineer and advance to E/I Supt. in approximately 18-36 mos. Responsible for capital projects in the $2MM-$10MM range.  Responsible for capital project development and implementation of a wide range of areas but focus on electrical engineering intensive projects. The position is responsible to ensure that assigned capital projects are managed, engineered, procured and constructed within the guidelines of company policies as well as local and national codes. Will supervise design specifications, purchasing, bid analysis, vendor and contractor selection. May also assist with maintenance issues in E&I.  At the superintendent level the responsibilities will include all E&I systems mill-wide and related manpower and budgets. Requires a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, at least 5 yrs electrical engineering experience in a heavy industrial setting. A mix of maintenance and project experience is beneficial.  Plant is profitable, the company is a top level performer, and capital  investment is constant and significant.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Directs the planning, identification and development of long-range capital programs to ensure the maintenance and integrity of electrical and process control systems. Manages activities to ensure capital and maintenance plan goals are met. Skilled in troubleshooting and problem solving. Serve as an expert resource in one or more technical areas and provide assistance throughout the organization as needed. 

REQUIREMENTS:

Solid, management, leadership and communication skills. Experience with the following 13.8 KV power distribution system, standard motor controls (480VAC, 2300VAC, and 4160VAC), both AC and DC variable speed drives, and programmable logic controllers are required.

Requires ability to effectively interact with a variety of refinery work groups, including operators in a control room environment. Requires domestic & international travel of 30%. Must be U. S. Electrical Project Engineer: Washington State
