Instrumentation and Controls Engineer Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Minimum Requirements: B.S. Electrical or Chemical Engineer degree, or equivalent experience 3+ years of experience trouble-shooting and maintaining DCS controlled plant instrumentation such a pressure, flow and temperature meters Ideal experience would be DCS controls programming, mechanical integrity, SAP, and PSM knowledge

At this PSM regulated site, they produce a variety of specialty chemicals and run a highly automated process. This person will work with an on-site controls/instrumentation engineer as well as instrumentation technicians and on outside vendor who assists in the programming of DCS controls. The initial focus of this job is verifying that the temperature/flow/pressure meters are working in conjunction with the on-site DCS controls. Other responsibilities include the coordination MOC and instrument changes internally and externally, overseeing and making changes to instrumentation maintenance, and assisting to troubleshooting 5.1 V-34 KV power, MCC, panel boards, UPS systems, emergency lighting, HVAC, bus systems, and I/O systems. The plant utilizes reactors, drying, mixing and distillation. The parent company is a multi-billion dollar international firm with excellent benefits and relocation assistance.
